La manifestazione inizia la sua storia nel 1989 quando si apre la prima Mostra Antiche Camelie della Lucchesia grazie al Centro culturale del Compitese.
Riscuote un certo successo quindi grazie all’orto Botanico di Lucca e alle amministrazioni di Capannori e Lucca si decide di ampliare l’evento – mostra fino ad arrivare ai giorni nostri dove nel 2017 si avranno 3 week end per partecipare alla mostra diventata importante anche a livello internazionale.
Le date per il 2017 saranno 11- 12 marzo e 18-19 marzo infine 25-26 marzo. La manifestazione si svolgerà a S. Andre e Pieve di Compito coinvolgendo anche frazioni di Capannori e il comune di Lucca.
Acquistando il biglietto potrete visitare anche la Villa di Marlia nel mese di marzo dove un viale è dedicato alle Camelie oltre ad apprezzare gli itinerari e gli eventi collaterali previsti nella Mostra Antiche Camelie Lucchesi.
